COPE – Youth Justice Support Program
Free, trauma-informed support for youth ages 10–18 in the Westshore region who are at risk of criminal involvement, exploitation, grooming, or other high-risk situations, as well as youth who have experienced violence or sexual assault. The program works in tandem with the RCMP Westshore Youth Outreach Team to support trauma-informed policing and help youth feel heard and supported when engaging with the justice system.
What We Offer
Services may include individual counselling, caregiver support, safety planning, victim support, justice-system navigation, accompaniment during police reporting, advocacy, outreach, and referrals to resources. The program works with youth, families, schools, police, and community partners to reduce harm, build trust, and connect youth with appropriate supports before concerns escalate.
How To Get Connected
Youth, families, schools, police, hospitals, and community service providers can contact us directly to ask about the COPE-Youth Justice Support Program. Referrals are accepted from the West Shore RCMP, SD62 school staff and administrators, Victoria General Hospital, community agencies, service providers, youth, and families.
For intakes, referrals, and general counselling program information, please contact the intake counsellor at 250.940.4373 or by email at intake@pcfsa.org. All referrals begin with an intake to help us understand the person’s needs and determine whether our program can provide the right care within its mandate. When we are unable to offer services, we will do our best to suggest other appropriate supports or resources. Intakes can be done by phone, email or in person with a scheduled appointment.
This program is funded by the City of Colwood and the City of Langford.
