These include work with isolated seniors, individuals addressing family violence, youth outreach and email counselling, youth gang and exploitation prevention and intervention, family and couples counselling, counselling to address substance use, mental health counselling, and trauma therapy.

Pacific Centre Family Services Association (PCFSA) is hiring two Administrative & Communications Assistants to support our administrative systems, marketing and communications work, and accreditation preparation projects.

This role is ideal for students interested in administration, communications, marketing, nonprofit operations, social services, or community impact work. You’ll gain hands-on experience behind the scenes of a busy nonprofit organization while developing practical, transferable skills.

You’ll work with a supportive, trauma‑informed team that is making a real difference in the lives of children, youth, and families across South Vancouver Island.

Job Details

  • Dates: June 22 – August 14 (8 weeks)
  • Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week
  • Pay: $22.94/hour (BCGEU Community Social Services 2024 wage rate)
    • Includes 11% in lieu of vacation and statutory holidays
  • Location: In person at our Colwood office

What You’ll Do

This role focuses primarily on administrative, organizational, and communications support, rather than front‑desk or reception work, but may occasionally be asked to greet clients. Your contributions will help strengthen PCFSA’s internal systems, outreach, and accreditation readiness.

Administrative & Office Support

  • Organize digital and paper files, records, and contact lists
  • Assist with data entry, document formatting, scanning, and filing
  • Prepare internal documents, spreadsheets, and tracking tools
  • Sort incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail as needed
  • Support general office operations and administrative workflows

Marketing, Communications & Fundraising Support

  • Assist with creating and scheduling social media posts
  • Help update and maintain content on PCFSA’s website
  • Support communications materials using tools like Canva and Microsoft 365 platforms
  • Assist with fundraising activities (event preparation, donor materials, data entry)
  • Help track communications, outreach, and campaign activities

CARF Accreditation & Special Projects

  • Support CARF accreditation preparation, including organizing documentation and records
  • Help review, sort, and label policies, procedures, and evidence files
  • Assist staff with quality improvement and compliance-related projects
  • Participate in other special administrative or organizational projects as needed
