PCFSA provides a range of counselling and social services for residents across South Vancouver Island. These include work with isolated seniors, individuals addressing family violence, youth outreach and email counselling, youth gang and exploitation prevention and intervention, family and couples counselling, counselling to address substance use, mental health counselling, and trauma therapy.

The Westshore Community Health Centre (WSCHC) is a new multidisciplinary primary care centre operated by Pacific Centre Family Services Association (PCFSA) which is designed to bring low-barrier, trauma-informed coordinated healthcare to the underserved populations of the Westshore and their families.

Looking for a meaningful way to spend your time, meet amazing people, and give back to your community? We’ve got just the thing! Join our awesome team of volunteers helping older adults in the Westshore area. Whether you’re up for a friendly chat, a coffee date, or a quick drive across town — your time can make a big difference.

📅 Flexible hours: Monday-Friday between 9:00 Am-5:00 PM (Occasional Saturdays, based on your availability)

Getting Started:
To keep things safe and smooth, we ask for:
✅An opportunity to meet with you and learn a bit about you and why you are interested in volunteering

✅A quick application
✅ Two references
✅ A recent Criminal Record Check
✨ Don’t worry – we’ve got your back with full training! You’ll learn things like helping with walkers, safety protocols, communication tips, and more.


Sunshine Specialist (Friendly Visitor)

Love good conversations and connecting with others? This role is all about building friendships!

  • Chat over the phone a few times a month
  • Meet up in person once or twice a month – at their home, a cozy café, or even for a stroll
  • Share your hobbies – play cards or board games, swap baking tips, do a puzzle, or even learn to knit together
  • Help with small tasks like making a grocery list or placing an online order

🚗 No driving needed for this role – just your friendly self!


Road Trip Rockstar (Volunteer Driver)

Got a reliable car and a big heart? You can help get older adults to and from important appointments or grocery runs nearby.

  • Transportation to social events
  • Meal delivery (Wednesday afternoons)
  • Pick up and drop off for medical visits or local shopping trips
  • No lifting or transporting heavy equipment (just small walkers if needed)
  • We’ll cover your mileage every month 💸
  • Totally flexible – help out when it fits your schedule

To hit the road with us, you’ll need:
🚘 A valid driver’s license
🛞 A safe, insured vehicle (with 3 million liability)
✅ A clean driver’s abstract
